Pizza by the slicein Margate

Palms opened in Margate in April 2022 and has been slinging New York-style pizza from The Centre, at the top of the High Street, ever since. A slice shop and dive bar in one: grab a slice at the counter, or sit in for a full 20-inch pie, a can of Palms House Lager or IPA and the playlist turned up!

Everything is made in house using high quality ingredients. The dough is proved for 48 hours to ensure a crispy base, the Palms marinara sauce is made fresh every day using the highest quality tomatoes, and the pizzas are finished with the good stuff: stracciatella, Piggy’s hot honey, whipped lemon ricotta, house pesto.

The House Pie: our pepperoni pizza with stracciatella and hot honey was ‘Pizza of the Year’ at the 2023 UK National Pizza Awards, where co-founder Josh Ward was named ‘Pizza Chef of the Year’ too. It quickly became a best seller across both shops.

The menu is deliberately short, six or seven pizzas plus a monthly special, usually a collaboration with one of our favourite restaurants, chefs or brand.

Alongside the pizza there is our Palms House Lager and House IPA brewed for us in the UK by Docker, our own natural wine label Supernatural, Picklebacks and of course, the Mystery Shot. Whole 20-inch pies are designed for sharing, and you can go half and half across any two pizzas.
