About Palms Pizzeria Lisbon
Lisbon's New York slice shop
Palms started in Margate, England in 2022 and opened its second shop in Lisbon in August 2025, on Travessa dos Mastros in Santos. It is a slice shop and a bar: come in for one slice on the way somewhere, or settle in with a 20-inch pie, a cold Sagres and a unique curated playlist.
This is New York-style pizza, not Neapolitan. The base is thin and crispy enough to hold a slice in one hand, the marinara is made fresh every day, and the toppings are so good, people cross the city for: pepperoni with stracciatella and hot honey, fennel sausage with whipped ricotta, roasted mushrooms with truffle oil.
What people come back for
The House Pie, pepperoni finished with stracciatella, hot honey and black pepper, was a Pizza of the Year finalist at the 2023 UK National Pizza Awards, where co-founder Josh Ward was named Pizza Chef of the Year. It is the best seller in both shops. The menu stays short, seven pizzas and a monthly special, so everything on it is made properly.
To drink there is Supernatural, our own natural wine from organically farmed vineyards in Alcobaça just north of Lisbon, Palms House IPA, Sagres, Picklebacks and the Mystery Shot. Whole pies are designed for a group, and any two pizzas can go half and half.

Travessa dos Mastros is a small street in Santos, just off Rua da Esperança at the bottom of Rua de São Bento. From Cais do Sodré it is a ten-minute walk west, or take the 15E or 18E tram to Santos and walk up the hill for three minutes. Santos train station and Avenida 24 de Julho are five minutes below us.
